How to Make Blackened Shrimp and Mango with Red Alaea Salt

Sea salt is known for being a healthy, flavorful alternative to refined table salt. Because it is unrefined, it contains all of the healthy minerals and trace elements that are lost during the refinement process. Red Alaea Salt from Salts Worldwide is a specialty red sea salt from the Hawaiin Islands. It’s unique flavor and vibrant color makes it an ideal accent to any dish. Red Alaea Salt is traditionally harvested from the Pacific ocean by solar evaporation. This allows the salt crystals to form with the trace minerals intact. Its distinctive red color comes from the Hawaiian volcanic clay which is called “alae.” This salt is Kosher and 100 percent natural. It has a shelf life of 10 years when stored properly.

In this recipe, the Red Alaea Salt adds a distinctive flavor to this Cajun inspired dish of succulent blackened shrimp and juicy mango.
