– Preheat Himalayan salt block. It takes around fifteen minutes to heat it up so in this time you can prepare your veggies and get all the seasonings ready on a plate or bowl. You will also need some oil for cooking which I prefer safflower when using a cast-iron skillet.

– Place Himalayan salt block on your stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Let it sit for about five minutes before placing scallops or other vegetables on top of it. It is very important that you don’t put any veggies during this time because they take longer to cook than scallops which are thin pieces of seafood.

– In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and black pepper together.

– Season both sides of scallops with the mixture using your fingers or a brush then set aside.

– Place mushrooms, red peppers, and zucchini on a Himalayan salt block in that order if you want them to be cooked evenly. If you don’t, mushrooms might get overcooked while your scallop is still raw. When I cook these vegetables on a salt block, I like to place the red peppers and zucchini in the middle where it will take less time to be cooked then add my mushrooms at last since they tend to take longer than other veggies.
